Adesuwa a movie directed by Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, a Planet Africa Media recipient premiered this weekend.

Imasuen, the Edo State-born movie producer/director is one of the few movie practitioners that has helped project Nollywood in a positive way to the world through every of his production.
He has over the years been responsible for a long list of blockbuster movies such as Private Storm, Bent Arrows, Issakaba, Home in Exile, Entanglement, Wrong Desire, Games Women Play, Private Sin amongst others.
The father of two says: ‘My whole life at the moment revolves around Adesuwa. The truth is I am in love with Adesuwa. My wife has leased me to Adesuwa till after the cinema run around May.’
The epic film Adesuwa is a riveting tale that reveals the dangerous power of unbridled lust and its psycho-sociological implications. The motion picture treats this potent emotion as an intoxicating force capable of turning an otherwise reasonable human into a cruel beast and sets on fire two friendly and peaceful neighbours.
After a successful premiere in London at the Odeon cinema in Greenwich, the movie is finally set to open in Nigeria, but will officially hit the cinemas this weekend. Imasuen says this block buster movie which is based on a true life story, centres on a vassal ruler Obi Olise who demeans his throne because of a woman that has already been affianced to Oba Akengbuda of Benin.
This intriguing and suspense filled film features an extraordinary cast of top Nollywood artistes like Olu Jacobs, Ngozi Ezeonu, Bob-Manuel Udokwu, Cliff Igbinovia, Kofi Adjorlolo, and Iyobosa Olaya. Prolifically filmed along with featuring remarkable visual effects, the movie takes Imasuen into the terrific history of the Benin Kingdom to convey a tale of lust, enthusiasm, and treachery. It has been recently nominated in several categories at the forthcoming AMAA.
