Why Fashola, others shunned Funke Akindele's wedding to father of five .

Last Saturday marked the beginning of a new status for Nollywood actress and star of Jenifa blockbuster, Olufunke Akindele as she became Mrs. Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede.
It was like a carnival of sorts inside the cozy and well-decorated marquee at The Haven, GRA, Ikeja venue of the talk-of-the-town nuptials.
The two-in-one ceremony which included an engagement and wedding ceremony was the highpoint of a marital exchange that began on Thursday at the actress’ Ikeja residence with Muslim marriage rites known as Nikkai.
At the engagement/ white-wedding, the ecstatic mutual feeling between the couple as well as their family and well-wishers could not be missed. Security provided by popular top scale private security outfit, K Square was very tight as guests were properly screened before being allowed into the venue.
The day of joy for the Akindeles and Oloyedes began with an engagement ceremony anchored  by Alaga Iduro (compere) Foluso Ogunjimi of the Maggi Chicken sponsored Sokoyokoto fame and her crew who ensured that there was no dull moment.
Shortly after the engagement ceremony, guests migrated to the other part of venue reserved for the white-wedding/ reception. However, a pleasant surprise awaited all as the couple turned-up in full English white-wedding costume with all its paraphernalia. This was contrary to a release signed by the publicist of the actress who stated that only an engagement ceremony will hold while an elaborate white-wedding ceremony will come up later.
But that was not the only surprise of the day. Many guests including fans, journalists and celebrities were shocked to find the earlier advertised All Seasons Hotel, Ikeja venue under locks.
EE authoritatively gathered that the embarrassing discovery was a deliberate act to check crowd control at the event as two invitations displaying different venues had been in circulation before the wedding ceremonies.
A group of guests from Ibadan spotting Aso Ebi who spoke to EE at the entrance of the hotel expressed regrets and disappointment on finding that they had been misled contrary to the address on their invites.
Elsewhere, it was celebration galore as Methodist priests led by the Very Reverend M. O. Ogunsoji (JP) conducted the solemnization between the love-struck couple. Shouts of joy rented the air as the couple were pronounced husband and wife.
Without delay, the event proceeded into a proper wedding reception anchored by comedian and master compere, Gbenga Adeyinka 1st. The colourful reception ceremony was spiced with love themed jams by DJ Spin’all and Akin Tofomowo led Shuga Band on the bandstand.  Another attraction at the event was a scintillating performance by songstress and Mavin Records new queen, Tiwa Savage who dished out her hit songs. Victuals were not also in short supply as guests had much to eat and drink.
But the conspicuous absence of heavy weights such as Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola and wife, Abimbola could not be ignored. Although represented by Mrs. Mosun Shofola, Chairperson, Kosofe Local Government, the Governor’s wife rather opted to enjoy herself at Basket Mouth’s African Kings of Comedy show which held about the same time at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island. Perhaps, the most recognizable face in the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Lagos was Chief Lai Muhammed, National Publicity Secretary.
However, his presence did little to abate the rumour in town that Lagos ACN top-shots who are benefactors of the actress were crossed with her decision to marry the son of a popular women leader of the opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaja Raliat Oloyede.
Unknown to many, the actress’ newly married hubby who is popularly known as Ken Doo is the proud father of five kids from three different women. Although this fact has been hidden from the public however, EE learnt that the property developer is separated from the mother of his children.
It was learnt that Ken Doo who maintained a robust relationship with the mother of three of his children identified as Detoun, a textile dealer in Oshodi later severed ties with her based on irreconcilable differences. The two others are love-children from two unidentified ladies.
Funke Akindele will now be saddled with the responsibility of not only catering for her hubby but she will also inherit five step children.
Nollywood acts and members of Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) were not left out as they came in good numbers to support one of their own. The endless role call at the event include Genevieve Nnaji, Jide Kosoko, AY, Ini Edo, Chioma Chukwu-Akpotha, Abbey Lanre, Desmond Elliot, Odunlade Adekola, Liz Da Silva, Dayo Amusa, Sikiratu Sindodo, Sola Kosoko, Iya Rainbow, Opeyemi Ayeola and Dayo Adeneye.
Also on the list were Bimbo Thomas, Eniola Badmus, Sasha, Denrenle Edun, Julius Agwu, Ali Baba, Halima Abubakar, Grace Amah and Ireti Osayemi among others.
