Millions Flock To The Cinema As "The Hunger Games" Premiers In UK...

Stars Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth pose on the red carpet
The Hunger Games makes $68.3 million on its opening day in the US and is the biggest ever for a non-sequel movie.

Stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson have been tirelessly promoting the sci-fi drama but now all the young stars can do is wait for fans reactions as they pour into cinemas across the world. There were high expectations for the Suzanne Collins adaptation and it seems the film has more than delivered.
The apocalyptic epic comes in at number five on the all-time Hollywood blockbusters list according to E! Online behind The Twilight Saga and Harry Potter sequels with ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part Two’ taking the top spot.
But it is the only film of the three teen favourites to make it into the top 10 on its debut move and has almost taken in one day what the first ‘Twilight’ movie took in its entire opening weekend.
The movie could still out do its rivals by the end of the weekend but has to beat $169 million to be the best opening weekend for a movie, currently held by ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part Two.’
