Lagos glowed last Saturday under an endless stream of beautiful sunlight. It was a weather fitting for the Headies Awards at the Expo hall, Eko Hotel and Suites where entertainers, top dignitaries from Nigeria and abroad sat savouring the day. Indeed, it was billed to be a night of glamour and excitement. And so it turned out, especially for the winners of the night.
It was a night that stars dazzled and nearly set the hall ablaze by the sheer force of their brightness.
The award night, which featured thrilling performances from acts like: Waje, Wizkid, MI, Ice Prince, Tiwa Savage, and Sir Shina Peters was jointly hosted by Nollywood star actress, Rita Dominic and rap star eLDee, who also won the Best Conscious Song of the Year award.
One artiste who perhaps had the biggest smile for the night was the African queen crooner, 2face Idibia, he went home with the three most coveted awards of the night - the Best R N’ B album, Pop Album and Artiste of the year.
